JOHN HOPKINS AND THE JOHN HOPKINS GROUP
John Hopkins is the founder and CEO of the John Hopkins Group and has been the face of the business since 1980. He was one of the first independent property investment specialists in Australia. His approach differed dramatically from other organisations at that time because of his pro-investor stance, being retained by and acting solely for, property investors. He specialised in encouraging individuals to build long-term, conservative property investment portfolios.
John Hopkins remains an advocate for continued prudent investments in property for the long term with the minimum of risk. Respected for his uncompromising position as to what constitutes sound investment property, John Hopkins' endorsements are sought by many of the the top property developers, giving clients privileged access to the best performing properties in leading developments. "Recommended" or "endorsed" property investments may be off-the-plan or established property.
The John Hopkins Group has developed, over 25 years, a systematic approach to understanding individual client's general and financial circumstances and carefully encourages clients, where appropriate, to purchase quality property for long-term investment. The Group assists clients, where applicable, in sourcing reliable, professional and reputable advice in financial planning, financing, accounting and legal services, as well as assisting property investors regarding long-term management of their properties.
John Hopkins is the founding chairperson of the Property Investment Association of Australia (PIAA), a not-for-profit organisation established to represent all industries involved with property investment. Among other things, the charter of the PIAA is to develop industry codes of conduct and develop and deliver industry education including accreditation programs. He initiated the development of the PIAA Accreditation Program with Deakin University.
